Anxiety and Love Do Not Co-Exist
I have a confession to make. Every day isn’t easy. Some days are exhausting, disappointing and crushing. Other days are inspired, uplifting, and full of joy. So what’s the difference? Why are some days a breeze and others a burden?
I’m sure that the reasons have so many variables that I could never imagine them all, BUT I have noticed that they all depend on one thing, 💛 LOVE 💛. Inside and out, love is the common denominator!!! A LOVE that comes through FAITH and creates HOPE. An attitude of embracing myself and others. Not placing one before the other, but sharing it with myself and letting it pour out of me. Show love and correct your course when needed, no matter how many times you have to repeat it.
“Jesus replied : ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ .” Matthew 22:37-39
Ways to Naturally Overcome Your Anxiety
1. Change Your Mind to Tackle Stress
The Lord is truly changing everything, but don’t forget He has also given you the gift to speak life into things. Your words hold more power than you might think. Are you going to use this power to grow or to destroy? Read, study, educate yourself. Decide who you are and what you stand for, before it is questioned so you don’t fall for things that compromise your beliefs. Knowing what you believe will alleviate the stress you feel in the pressure of decision. You can "speak" yourself out of your anxiety too. Try it, put it into practice and you will find that it IS possible.

Let your heart be calmed, no matter the size of your storm. God is not in the wind, in the waves or in the rain, He controls them! They listen to His commands. If you feel out of control, it’s time to obey His commands too. He will give you a peace that you can’t even begin to understand, until you have experienced it. If you are feeling anxious, maybe it's time to praise God in the moment.
Don't just ask God to remove the stress from your life, but instead express #gratitude to Him for being there with you through the process. Thank Him, in advance for showing you how to stop worrying. He can help you get to the root of what is causing you to panic and how to overcome it.
It's not always possible to defeat anxiety on your own, but there are many things that can help you. God will show you how to seek the help you need, if you would open up to Him and allow Him to work in you. #Begrateful for the #blessings that will soon come to pass. Eliminate anxiety by faithfully anticipating the positive in what is to come. Affirming your gratitude ahead of time!
When we hit detours in life, we can either let them become a roadblock or we can find an alternative way.
2. Stop Comparing Yourself To Eliminate Anxiety
Stop comparing yourself to others and your younger self! Then you can begin to become healthy. You are never going to be the same as someone else. #comparison causes anxiety. There is nothing about you, even down to your tongue print (yes that's a thing!) that is the same as other people's. Identical twins form from a single egg that splits. They have incredible outside similarities and yet they are individuals. Twins have different DNA, different tastes and let's not forget, they even have different bank accounts. The list can go one forever if we let it, but you will find more differences in them than similarities because they are both distinctively individuals.
Why are you comparing yourself and your situation to anything? Comparison causes stress, which in turns causes anxiety and when allowed to stick around causes panic. You don't need to be like anyone else. You don't need what they have or even what you THINK they have. They are not better or worse than you. You are unique. You were created to look, think and act like yourself. You can try to copy others, but this will never make you less anxious as you will always be trying to keep up with them. It's a vicious cycle. Learn from others, but if you want to overcome stress in your life, don't compare yourself to them.
3. Trust God In All Things to Battle Fear

So often our minds are filled with doubt. We have discussions with ourselves like...
🌱 Can I really do this?
🌱 I’m not ______ enough.
🌱 It’s not possible for me.
🌱 I’m wasting my time.
🌱 If I just ______.
🌱 I always fail.
🌱 I have bad luck
🌱 I don’t know where to begin.
🌱 I can’t risk failing again.
The one thing trying to connect all of these thoughts is you. How has doubt been working out? It doesn’t come from God. Are you where you think you should be by now? Trust God Regardless. He is the way and He will breathe truth into your life. Trust God in all things and He will remove the anxiety as He teaches you how to. Live a life without fear by trusting in God.
I speak this into your life...

4. Create Boundaries To Reduce Stress and Overcome Anxiety
To successfully overcome anxiety and handle stress in a healthy manner, you must learn to create boundaries. You cannot say yes to everything. You must learn what is worthy of your time and your energy. Always say YES to God. Give careful thought to what you say yes to, in return there is something else you are saying no to. Saying yes to God means giving your trust to Him. It means saying no to your ways and surrendering your will back to Him in all things.
5. Learn Your Limits to Reduce Being Overwhelmed
It’s often once we put our limits to the test that we find out what we are made of. During this process we also have those limits spelled out more clearly and personally. It can be tough to keep up with the pace of our own obligations, but once we add other's expectations in and do a little comparing, that pace can become unbearable.
It almost seems like there must be something ingrained in us, that causes us to remain in this constant battle. At some point it becomes obvious that we are emotionally, physically, spiritually or relationally, unhealthy. Sometimes it can be a combination of these areas that needs our attention.
Having lived through chronic anxiety, worry and insomnia for years and overcoming them, I can testify that these things and more are all symptoms of something much deeper. Emotional and spiritual struggles become physical if they aren’t dealt with. Likewise physical struggles can lead to emotional and spiritual ones. I have pushed many limits, some of which pushed back hard. I was always strong and energetic, until I wasn’t.
Becoming unhealthy is a process. Diagnosis and mis-diagnosis are a process. Healing is a process. Don't worry! There is life beyond chronic symptoms and (mis)diagnosis, no matter what area(s) you happen to need help with. It may not look exactly like what life looked like before, but it can get much better. It’s up to you. Learning more about yourself and how to better care for your body and your mind isn't easy, but it is so worthwhile in the end.
6. Accept God's Grace to Live Anxiety Free
Have you accepted God’s grace in your life? It’s not something you need to earn, it’s something He freely gives you. Despite not costing you anything, you must choose to accept it. Do you give yourself grace? How about others?
If you have accepted God‘s grace, what right do you have to deny yourself grace? Is perfection something you are aiming for to deserve it? How can you possibly expect others to be perfect and deny them the grace you have been given? What does living in Grace feel like to you? Can you see how God is threading it all together?
7. Control Your Breathing When you Are Under Stress
Stop holding your breath and #justbreath. Inhale the future. Acknowledge the present. Exhale the past. Experience what you need to, process it and breathe it back out. Don't deprive yourself of oxygen or you risk even higher levels of stress, anxiety and panicking. Breathing controls your body's response to stress. It provides your body with the air it needs to process your next thoughts and allows your body to continue living. Breathing is extremely important when it comes to stress management.
8. Take Time to Care for Yourself to Curb Anxiety
There are a few non-negotiables to living without anxiety. Getting the proper nutrition and adequate rest and sleep are essential to controlling your stress level. Even from the very beginning, the bible tells us that God modeled rest for us. He provided us with food and guided us in what we should eat to maintain our health. The bible tells us there is a time for everything. This doesn't mean that we need to be doing everything and filling up all of our time. Instead this tells us that not all things are appropriate at all times. Learning what we need and when and practicing these things in a healthy way will curb your anxiety. Take time to care for yourself properly and you will learn how to curb your anxiety.
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
9. Overcome Your Anxiety By Discovering Your Worth
It’s so easy to get our worth and our works confused. Most of us know what it’s like to work ourselves to exhaustion & beyond. So why do we do it? What are we trying to prove? How well is the point getting across? Is this making us unhealthy? Stop for a minute and think.
Don’t give up hope. Don’t give up choosing right from wrong. Don’t give up on #beingablessing to others. Don’t give up on making an impact in the people around you, because you DO matter. No matter what ideas the “world” may be forcing on you, like #socialdistancing . Discover how to get out of feeling stuck.
You are NOT ALONE. Socializing should not be distanced, in times like this we need as many positive connections as we can get. Physical distancing might be where your comfort lies, but don’t hesitate to reach out and connect with others even if it’s digitally. We do not need to be afraid of each other. Masks can do an excellent job of dehumanizing us, but we need NOT forget what it was like before all of this chaos set in motion.
You will experience less anxiety when you know what you are worth. God gave His Son, Jesus, as a sacrifice for you. You were worth enough to Him to do so. God loves you freely, but not without cost. His Son paid your price and because of this, you should never forget, even when you feel insignificant, that you are worthy. Show others the grace that your heavenly Father has given to you.
10. Make Healthy Choices To Eliminate Anxiety
Living without anxiety requires making healthy choices. It means you must actively seek to promote your well-being and others. Learning to develop your compassion for others while still respecting yourself promotes your health. You must learn how to continue to feed your energy without burnout. Discover what isn’t working for you and prune away what is no longer serving you to make room for healthy growth.
Removing from your mind any comparison trap that is limiting. Fueling your mind, body and soul holistically. These things are fundamental in learning how to thrive with minimal stress. They are essential for optimal health.
Why Overcoming Anxiety and Stress Is So Important
Learning how to manage stress appropriately is how you learn to naturally overcome anxiety for good. These are necessary battles that you must face in your life to be #healthyfromtheinsideout. At times there is more we all can be doing more to overcome anxiety. You CAN learn to healthily #managestress . How you live doesn’t just impact you. It affects everything around you, from every aspect of your health down to your relationships. Your presence walks into every situation with you. If you’re healthy and full of positive energy, it’s just as contagious as your smile!
